The Asian tiger mosquito Aedes albopictus (Skuse) is one of the most important species in public health due to variety disease-causing viruses that this can transmit. In Mexico, Ae. was reported for first time 1990 state Tamaulipas, bordering Texas (USA). Since then, has been 15 Mexican states. Currently, present all tropical and subtropical regions country its presence common states Gulf Mexico Chiapas. study, six additional states: Colima, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Puebla, Oaxaca, Querétaro. rapid dispersal represents a risk health, surveillance where it not yet essential as part entomological programs.
